Instructor Bio: I have a crazy love for textiles. Still, after thirty years of working in the textile art industry, I continue to explore traditional, innovated and sustainable ways to apply dyes to natural fibers. I gain inspiration from my experiments with color whether extracting it from nature or mixing fiber reactive dyes. Texture, layering of material and patterns, as well as the beauty in nature inform my work.
I studied design and printmaking at the Massachusetts College of Art, and also have degree in business marketing from Lasell College. Combining the two has enabled me to experience life as an innovative businesswoman and artist. Over the years I have been lucky to have successful textile and interior design companies, along with being very involved in supporting the arts in the nonprofit sector.
Currently, I am one of the co-founders of Textiles West, which is extremely fulfilling work and I am very excited to be teaching in the Surface Design Department in our makerspace.
