Class Description: Theses lovely Reading Pocket Pillows can be given as gift to someone who is retiring, a child for a good night story before bed or a High School graduate for comfort when they leave home.  How about starting a family tradition with a Christmas themed pillow with the book, Night Before Christmas, slipped inside the front pocket.  They can also be used to place goodies in for Valentine’s Day or Easter.  The possibilities are endless!  You will be making a 16 x16 inch reading pocket pillow, and you will go home with instructions, and inspiration to make many more.

Student supply list: "A working sewing machine that you are familiar with (we do have a few Bernina sewing machines available if you do not have a machine you want to bring to class or you have troubles during class). If you bring your machine do not forget the power cord, all of your presser feet and accessories, empty bobbins, Microtex 80/12 or Top Stitch 80/12 sewing machine needles and sewing manual for your machine.  Also bring your sewing kit with sharp fabric scissors, seam ripper, pins, seam gauge and any other accessories that help you sew.  For your first pillow I suggest a themed fabric (Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s, books, tropical island, football, princes,  or something to go with your decor)  as we will not have time to decorate the front pocket in class, but I will show you tons of options for taking your next pillow to a custom level.

Class Level: Fascination – These classes will introduce you to a new skill, concept or technique and are open to all levels. The student may, however, be required to have a basic skill or have taken a certification class. For example, for a flat-pattern drafting class one need not know anything about flat-pattern drafting but should have a basic understanding of the sewing machine. Any prerequisites will be listed in the class description.
