Walk in Beauty! Warp and weave a small rug using traditional materials and tools. Weave at home after learning weaving techniques in a warm and relaxed class atmosphere. You will be introduced to the washing, carding, spinning and dyeing of wool. Discover the stories and traditions of Native peoples as it applies to weaving along with design and color aesthetics of traditional Navajo rugs. "

Some little extras to make life easier: pencil and paper, a measuring device, a permanent marker like a Sharpie, energy food and/or drinks!
Number of hours for class: 16 hours, once a week. First two classes are 3 hours to accomodate the warping process and then classes are 2 hours.
Class Level: Fascination – These classes will introduce you to a new skill, concept or technique and are open to all levels. The student may, however, be required to have a basic skill or have taken a certification class. For example, for a flat-pattern drafting class one need not know anything about flat-pattern drafting but should have a basic understanding of the sewing machine. Any prerequisites will be listed in the class description.
