Textiles West Class Policies
Please add email@example.com to your email contacts/safe list, or periodically monitor your spam/junk folder, to ensure that you receive all pertinent class communications and notices.
We ask that participants register a minimum of one week in advance. While Textiles West is happy to accommodate last-minute registrations when possible, we must unfortunately cancel our classes/workshops if a minimum number of participants have not registered in advance (see more below). Registering early is also a courtesy that gives our instructors adequate time to prepare their class handouts, kits and supplies.
Your payment will be processed at the time you register online, or select your class while in the store. For those that prefer not to register online, a telephone or email request can reserve your spot, but please note that customers paid in full have first priority on class slots. Those who reserve a space without making the registration payment risk being bumped from the class if space requires.
Cancelling Your Registration
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you cannot attend the class. When doing so, request confirmation that your email has been sent and received.
Special workshops with teachers who are traveling to teach with us:
For our local and staff teachers, you will receive a refund in the amount of the class, less a $10.00 cancellation fee, as long as the following circumstances occurs:
Cancellations less than a week before class will receive a class credit less a $10 cancellation fee.
Textiles West reserves the right to cancel a class if we encounter the following:
Textiles West’s liability shall be limited to a refund of class fees. Textiles West shall not be responsible for supplies, airline tickets, hotel reservations, travel costs, or any other expenses. You will be notified as far in advance as possible and your enrollment fee fully refunded.
Attendees: Information to make things go smoothly
We have a small refrigerator at both locations if you bring your lunch. For the comfort of others, please refrain from wearing heavily scented perfumes, colognes, creams, etc.
Whenever possible we include all information on our website concerning your class, including workshop supply lists as part of the class description or as a downloadable PDF. If you have questions about the supplies necessary for your class, please contact us to ask.
Please bring cash or a check. Not all teacher can accept a credit card for the supplies they provide.
We have 8 Bernina 350 series sewing machines for classroom use.
You are always welcome to bring your own sewing machine, please make sure that it is in good working order and you are familiar with its use, unless the class description notes it is geared toward beginners and indicates that some usage instruction will be covered. Remember to bring your manual, power cord, foot pedal and all necessary accessories. If you do not sew on your machine regularly, we advise that you practice setting up your machine and testing its use before the class. We are not able to troubleshoot machine problems during class.
Inclement Weather Policy
We follow local Colorado Springs school closing announcements. Colorado weather is fickle and there can be many changes in the course of the day, and our instructors may come from areas that may experience different weather conditions. Instructors or the education coordinator will try to contact each student if there is a delay or cancellation. We always post closures on our Facebook page.
